The course aims to developing awareness in the topics related to contemporary families and childhoods. A specific focus in this course will be put on children and their subjective wellbeing in the family and school framework.

The student passing the course:
• has knowledge and skills of making difference between the notions of the family and children in political perspectives;
• understands children as a social group in a generational order and in their own right;
• acknowledges the children’s perspectives and its value in research and practice.

The course will contain introductory lectures and the following exercises, discussions and group works. The students are invited to send short glimpses into their own childhoods on the given topic (will be confirmed when the course will approach; in English) that will be staged during the course. The course will end with a Reflection Paper about the course “What did I learn from the course?”
