Course description.

Glocal students that have completed the required internship will explore their professional and personal experiences and the realities and complexities of working in the international development sector today.

Course aims.

Students will be able to articulate and process key professional and personal learnings from their internship experience and, when applicable, connect these learnings to relevant theories.

Students will have a better understanding of the realities and complexities of working in the international development sector.

Students will have resources and ideas to help guide their job search and future as international development professionals.

Learning outcomes – Upon successful completion of this seminar, students should be able to:
•Articulate professional and personal learnings from their internship experience.
•Describe current trends in international development and the complexities and opportunities these trends present for international development practitioners, clients and beneficiaries, donors and funders, and the private sector.
•Identify resources that can support their transition to a profession within, or related to, the international development sector.
