Can attendance be taken automatically?

• Create an Attendance activity
• Set the Status set appropriately. For example to mark students who accessed the course site within 5 minutes of the start of a sesion as Present, within 10 minutes as Late, and all others as Absent:

  	Available for students (minutes)	Automatically set when not marked
  Present	5
  Excused
  Late	10
  Absent		●

  The status will be set to Absent after the end of the session.
  Note: Statuses are set by a scheduled task that runs once per hour, 8 minutes past the hour - not when the student accesses the course site, or when one of the above times lapses.
• Create a session and set Automatic marking to either Yes or Set unmarked at end of session.
  Wait until at least 8 minutes past the first hour after the end of the session before viewing the attendance.
